Taking pictures and not sleeping

Jan 25th 2011, 22:14

I recently rediscovered my love for my Canon G9, and last night while the moon was low in the sky, I was having a play with long exposure in low light conditions, and took a few snaps. I like the results, and I'm definitely going to have to start taking more pictures again. I might invest in a gorillapod and take some more long exposure night shots.

FINE GIRLS

Jan 25th 2011, 21:57

LONG overdue post, but in the end of 2010 I was working on the sleeve art for London based afro-reggae-garage band The Worm's new EP, entitled Fine Girls.

They wanted some fun, colourful artwork with lots of visual clues and references to the songs on the CD. I was pretty pleased with the finished result, and I think it got a good reception at the EP launch party held at Passing Clouds in Dalston, which itself was a tip top, fun filled night!

Big thanks to Andre of The Worm for hooking me up with this job, and for putting on such a great night... and to The Worm for producing some top notch tunes!  If you're interested in either the band, The Worm, or the Wormfood nights, visit www.wormfood.co.uk

pound winter into submission with Red Wing boots!

Nov 16th 2010, 14:52

After a Summer that came and went too quickly for my liking, it feels like Autumn hung around for even less time. Now the temperature's dropping and the weather's getting worse. With this in mind, I recently dug out my Red Wing boots to combat the cold and the drizzle as I spent a weekend walking round Salisbury and London. It's been a while since I wore my boots, but once they were on my feet I immediately remembered why I love them so much. I find it so satisfying to stomp along the pavements knowing that however bad the weather gets, my feet won't feel it.

So anyway, while browsing the internet for pretty much anything Red Wing, I stumbled across this pretty cool little video from Complex.com about the Red Wing factory in rural Minnesota, showing the heritage and the quality behind their bulletproof boots.

Hey all, just a quick update on what I've been up to recently.

I've been working on some greeting card designs which I'm  approaching some card publishers with soon.  Hopefully I can get them made, so keep your eyes peeled. Here's a small sneak preview..

I also recently got asked to do the flyer for the Wormfood! Autumn 2010 programme.

Wormfood! run afro/reggae/hip-hop/gypsy/global bass/good vibe parties at a couple of venues in London, as well as booking bands for the Valley of the Antics tent at Secret Garden Party festival and a few other places.

If you want more info check out their site www.wormfood.co.uk

They wanted something quite worm-centric, and a bit fun and surreal.

Here's the finished result:

If you're about for any of their nights go check it out, good vibes and fun times to be had!

That's all for now, check back soon for more news!

Just thought I'd share some snaps of some new promotional mail outs I've had printed. I think they turned out quite well - pretty pleased with them all in all!
